A thought on too many baseball caps
Do you have too many hats? I’m not talking about berets or top hats or anything crazy like that. I’m just talking about regular baseball caps. Maybe they’re trucker hats, dad hats, golf hats, whatever. Well I’m not sure when I realized it was out of control, but I now have around 70 of these things. Is that too many?
On any given day, I do not wear a hat. But there are some days where I really want to hide my hair or my face from the sun. There are also days when I think the cap will really accent an outfit. So, I head to my downstairs closet - a room I’ve dedicated to all random items - and sort through the endless pile of caps. Man, I wish there was a good way to organize these things. Searching through ideas online, there’s nothing that’s been super inspiring to me.
But in shuffling through the loosely organized stacks, I realized how many MLB caps I’ve gotten from the stadiums I’ve visited. And it’s probably way too many. I don’t have all 30 teams or anywhere close, but enough to think maybe this was a bad collection to start. But then again, hats are one of my favorite souvenirs because I can’t take the nachos back home after I’ve eaten them. So as I pursue eating nachos in every stadium, I’ll also pursue buying a hat. I’ve resolved myself to knowing my collection will grow and I’ll finally have to come up with a better organizing and displaying method. And maybe one day they’ll all come out of the downstairs closet.
